Residential Jewellery Making Workshop

A relaxed and informal jewellery workshop suitable for any level, from absolute beginners to advanced students, with guidance from a professional, award winning jeweller.

At the same time enjoy a fabulous weekend break in beautiful Devon countryside with home cooked meals prepared from fresh local produce.

With a maximum of 4 students the course can be geared to your own specific needs and ensures individual attention. Beginners will learn the basic technique of jewellery making e.g. sawing, soldering, texturing and finishing a piece. More experienced students will be inspired to develop their creativity with new techniques and can work on their own projects.

You can expect to make/finish at least two items, e.g. a necklace / pendant / a ring and earrings.

Workshops start on Thursday evening with an informal discussion and a welcome meal and run until Sunday lunchtime.

Katie Gayle is a multi award winning professional jeweller with an international reputation and 20 years experience, and is a member of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen. She particularly likes to work with silver, gold and platinum.

Mei Lim , also a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, will be on hand to provide expert photographic records of your achievements on print, and digital files on CD for £10 an item.

Our workshop is set in converted farm buildings in glorious woodland close to the South Devon coast. The accommodation is comfortable and stylish, providing complete privacy and ensuring a truly memorable stay.

The fee of £350 pp includes a Thursday evening welcome meal, Friday and Saturday breakfast and lunch, and Sunday breakfast. Friday and Saturday evening meals are available at an additional £20 per person per night inclusive of wine and dessert. Please advise in advance if you have any particular dietary needs

If you have a friend or partner who would like to come along but prefers to do their own thing while you are making jewellery we can accommodate them too for an additional supplement.
